Statistical Genomics Laboratory, University of Toronto
Our group is comprised of students, research officers, postdoctoral fellows and faculty who are working on novel statistical tools for modern genomics research. Our research spans many aspects of statistical design of high-throughput genomics experiments and the analysis of resulting data. Our projects explore theoretical, methodological, and applied issues that arise with genomics research. We are also connected to few basic science and clinical research groups that are in the forefront of genomic research. Our goal is to advance the statistical frontiers in a way that is motivated, applicable, and in fact applied, to high-throughput genomics experiments. We believe that genomics has provided the statisticians with unprecedented opportunity to open up new vistas in theoretical and applied research. While the technology in genomics will undoubtly change, the methods of analysis and design that need to deal with very large numbers of highly-parallel, but intricately connected experimental measurements, will be useful for long time to come.
We have recruited for a postdoctoral fellow position. Dr Niloofar Arshadi has joined our team in May. The CaRE project is recruting for a Biostatistician. Download an ad here
We are located on the seventh floor of the Health Sciences Building, home of the Department of Public Health Sciences, University of Toronto. Check the pictures, following the link above to see for yourself, or better yet, pay us a visit!
Our group has a roughly weekly meeting schedule, on Tuesdays, 1pm, click on Talks above for schedule.
Downloads section will have publically available software and data, and following the Research link you can find our technical reports and papers.
